Rosenkreuzstilette Wiki

This page records revision differences in the Steam version of the Rosenkreuzstilette series.

Gameplay Differences[]

  • As the password system of both games had been revised, player can now save progress in the final stage via a special password exclusive to Steam version.
    • Player can also save progress in other parts of Iris Palace/Iris Palace II stage via a special password given after a Game Over in Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstachel~, but not the original Rosenkreuzstilette for some reason.
      • This marks the semi-debug Stage Select function started from ~Freudenstachel~ Version 1.03 being abandoned/unused - following the overhaul of password system, it becomes pointless anyway.
  • The function to disable command dash (tap D-pad forward twice to dash) of Grolla/Pamela had been revised so that command dash can be permanently enabled/disabled via pressing 1 on the keyboard. The original function of Weapon Switch trigger R is abandoned thus both Weapon Switch triggers point to dash.
    • This makes an originally frame-level move being a lot easier: Player can always dash from ladders by inputting ↓+ the direction desired to dash to + tap Weapon Switch trigger L twice + Jump, but the timing of tapping Weapon Switch trigger L is kinda precise in the original Japanese version which makes it become a frame-level move for wrong reasons.
  • There're several additional modes exclusive to Steam version that can be activated/deactivated by inputting commands at [era:ks] screen. If a special feature is successfully activated, a voice clip would be played. Trying to give up the game while additional modes are active won't activate the save replay screen.
    • An additional Easy Mode had been added by inputting commands at [era:ks] screen:

↑,↑,↓,↓,←,→,←,→,Attack,Jump The Easy Mode had the defence of all enemies (including bosses) halved and boosted maximum capacity of extra lives and Cross Tanks to 30.

    • An additional Debug Mode had been added by inputting commands at [era:ks] screen:

↑,↓,Attack,Jump The Debug Mode added full invincibility (even on spikes/pits) and had player character's moving speed/jumping height boosted to a (rather ridiculous) high rate, much like the 2P function in the original NES version of Mega Man 3. Once activated, the former unused F6,F7 and F8 buttons are all functional thus F6 can freely trigger Debug Mode on/off while F7 boosts all in-game player values (HP, extra lives, Cross Tanks, etc.) to maximum and F8 drops all in-game player values to zero.

    • An additional command of Sterblich Mode (Owata Mode/1-HP Mode) had been added by inputting commands at [era:ks] screen:

L,L,L,R The Sterblich Mode is identical to the former individual patch Rosenkreuzstilette ~Freudenstachel~ Sterblich.

    • An additional command to activate harder version of several stages had been added by inputting commands at [era:ks] screen:

←,←,←,→ All harder version stages are based of earlier candidates of the stages in the C76 Trial versions and had all of them working perfectly fine.

Graphic Differences[]

  • The HUD graphics imitating Mario game sentences in Schwer-Muta's stage had been revised.
  • Additional subtitles for battle cries/voices had been added in the original Rosenkreuzstilette.
  • Several stages had their Game Over picture variant in prototype versions restored and can be activated by getting multiple Game Overs in the same stage.

Miscellaneous Differences[]

  • The additional staff credit in the Steam version added reference to several game developers whose games had been involving into Rosenkreuzstilette series as references.
